Electronic signatures and their secure storage are becoming increasingly important. From a simple receipt to complex agreements, the handwritten signature is a part of everyday life.
With the aid of devices for signature acquisition - so-called signature pads - the process chain of the digital document, from its creation to its archiving, can be implemented without any format mismatch through handwritten electronic signatures.
The essential requirement is the unambiguous assignment of a handwritten electronic signature to a single document and to a single person.
Another important requirement should be the integration of the signed electronic document into the workflow of a company.
In companies with complex responsibilities and/or a high level of paperwork, e.g. insurance companies, banks and agencies, the use of electronic signature involves clear cost saving potentials, shorter running times and the prevention of improper use.
Electronic forms in conjunction with electronic signature lead to significant savings in the printing, copying, faxing, scanning and archiving of documents. Furthermore, the well-known phenomenon of forms "awaiting signature" can be avoided.
By using the biometric data acquired from the handwritten electronic signature, an automated authenticity check has become reality and therefore improper use is almost completely impossible.
