The Software API inserts the biometric data and signature image into a PDF/A document and links them to the PDF document by means of hash algorithms and asymmetrical encryption, making them secure against modification and/or theft. By using the Software API and the free Hardware API, you can create your own applications for simple and advanced electronic signatures.

The EasySigner can be integrated into the customer’s application as a signature acquisition window without any additional programming. It is therefore controlled via the start parameters. In the free basic version, the signature can be stored as a bitmap or JPG. The premium version enables you to sign PDF/A documents with EasySigner using command line controls. Licences are issued per workplace.

The Hardware API, free for end-customers, is the direct interface for communication with all StepOver signature pads. The Hardware API offers you all functions required to access the signature acquisition devices, record the signature and control the signature pad display. The Hardware API can also be accessed as DLL or OCX. An up-to-date description of the OCX and DLL methods can be found on the support webpage.

The StepOver TCP extension allows you to use the current StepOver signature pads in conjunction with a remote desktop environment. The TCP extension secures the data connection and, with it, any transmission between the signature pad connected to the client and the server where the signature software is installed.

The StepOver Citrix Module makes it possible to use current StepOver signature pads in a Citrix session. The Citrix Module secures the data connection and, with it, any transmission between the signature pad connected to the client and the Citrix server where the signature software is installed.

The StepOver picLoader supports the upload, download, and deletion of slide show images on StepOver signature devices with color screen via a USB connection. If the document is not displayed on the signature pad screen during signing, the signing background can also be individually designed.

The StepOver PDF Producer is a virtual printer. It can be operated as a normal printer from any application with a print function. The PDF Producer creates a fully searchable PDF file, also having embedded fonts where required (not image PDFs). Multipage documents, free format selection support, and A0-format prints are also possible.

The free StepOver Plugin for Office can be used to capture signatures with a StepOver signature device and insert them into a Word or Excel document. The documents signed with Plugin for Office can be displayed in any Word or Excel application (without additional software) and edited further. However, the signed documents do not have any more legal validity than previously through the added signature image. For a more legally admissible signature, please use eSignatureSuite.
